1. Overview
The Movement
The Live and Let Live Movement is a global peace effort founded on two principles:
a. a Legal Principle to not aggress, and
b. a Moral Principle to aspire for excellence.
The Charity
The Live and Let Live Community Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity spearheading the Live and Let Live Movement.
The charity’s vision is for everyone to live in peace.
The Engine
The Live and Let Live Engine (3L Engine) is a decentralized digital encyclopaedia established by the Live and Let Live Community.
The 3L Engine is hosted on GitHub as an open source project.
The draft of Live and Let Live the Book (2026) was the primary resource when the charity initially developed the 3L Engine, aiming to break down select ideas in an easily-digestible and interactive format.
The open source nature of the 3L Engine allows for ongoing development and refining of the ideas presented in Live and Let Live the Book, and beyond, by a large and diverse stakeholder base.
The 3L Engine serves two primary functions:
a. a public resource conveying the Live and Let Live Movement’s positions and solutions, and
b. an open source repository inviting contributions, discussion and engagement from a global and interdisciplinary base.
2. The 3L Engine as a Resource
One of the goals of the 3L Engine is to convey ideas of the Live and Let Live Movement in an easily-digestible format for a broad range of stakeholders.
Accordingly, the docs in the 3L Engine should be standardized. The baseline, or preferred, model of each entry of the 3L Engine is to include a one-sentence description or definition, followed by an explanation or discussion. Cross-reference links or suggestions on where to further explore the topic are also recommended.
The preferred style of each entry is per the APA style guide (American Psychology Association). Ideally each entry should take less than three-minutes of reading time.
The baseline standard for the structure of each entry is:
- definition or description (a one-sentence summary of the topic)
- discussion (an analysis or exploration of the topic)
- implementation (how the topic may be integrated in your life or in legal frameworks)
- further resources (suggestions on where to turn for further information).
This baseline standard applies to entries added, and changes committed to entries, after the initial import of data from late 2025, and post launch in early 2026. The initial entries imported from the draft of Live and Let Live the Book (2026) may not follow this baseline model format.
The 3L Engine is developed to assist a range of stakeholders including but not limited to students, researchers, entrepreneurs, entertainers, lawyers, managers, environmentalists and community activists in promoting human action and living in the interests of peace.
3. The 3L Engine as Open Source
The Live and Let Live Movement is an open network of diverse individuals aligned with the Legal Principle and the Moral Principle.
To harness this network, and its impact in the interests of peace, the 3L Engine is open source. This enables a wide range of voices to contribute to the development of ideas and the lessons learned from others’ experiences.
The 3L Engine is not a forum to platform or discuss anecdotes or subjective moral positions. The Live and Let Live Community manages several social media accounts accommodating such public discourse.
The 3L Engine is reserved for exploration of, and the discovery of solutions based on, the Legal Principle and the Moral Principle. The open source nature of the 3L Engine invites input among the variation of humans including as but not limited to people of distinct cultures, languages, social priorities and political realities.

5. Moderation Policy
Moderators
The charity takes guidance from the Live and Let Live Council, a global forum of trusted individuals who comprehensively understand the two principles and are committed to the movement’s aim for universal peace.
The charity also fosters an Ambassador network – individuals around the world and with various expertise who agree with the two principles. To apply for Ambassador certification, see here.
Moderation of the 3L Engine is conducted by individuals engaged by the charity, by Ambassadors or by members of the Live and Let Live Council.
In short:
- the charity serves as the host and coordinator of several enablers of the Live and Let Live Movement, including the 3L Engine
- the Council serves as a source of intellectual and applied reasoning concerning the Legal Principle and the Moral Principle
- the Ambassadors are the movers and shakers of the Live and Let Live Movement, showcasing and living by example the Legal and the Moral Principle.
Accordingly, individuals from these three groups are eligible to be Code Owners.
The main repository is the source of the 3L Engine unless otherwise determined by the Live and Let Live Community.
