🤝 Persuasion Techniques — Communicating with Empathy

Is Live and Let Live reasonable?

Begin from common-sense morality: open with something the listener already holds as true, then walk forward together.

When we stop sounding like we are recruiting for a club and start sounding like we are reminding people of what they already believe, the message stops being ‘radical’ and starts feeling like common sense. — Marc J Victor

How to meet people where they are?

We should lead with the shared values of peace, fairness, prosperity, and respect for others’ choices instead of starting with political labels or heavy theory. — Marc J Victor

The Live and Let Live Movement emphasizes Awareness to help people communicate why 3L is a common-sense approach.

The Awareness pillar includes demonstrating how localized issues are not only solved by free models of human interaction but are caused and made worse by aggressing models.

How Should I Communicate Live and Let Live?

Any message delivered on behalf of the Live and Let Live Movement must be in accordance with the Moral Principle. We should always act as excellent humans… speak in everyday language, with warmth and humility, not jargon or finger-wagging… Instead of seeking to ‘own’ our opponents in a debate or belittle people who disagree with our views, members of the 3L Movement are committed to acting with the highest of character in all circumstances and inspiring others to do the same while leading by example… We need to be more persuasive and inclusive as well as less divisive. — Marc J Victor
