Peace on Earth
Live and Let Live begins with the end in mind–a high-resolution blueprint for a peaceful, free, and prosperous world, in which love between our fellow humans pervades.
The law is meant to protect human dignity, such as your freedom to choose how to live your life, not restrict it. The world we envision is one where humanity is free to act within a framework based on a universal rule that we, and any laws we create, must not aggress.
We discard the coercive rules that limit humanity while preserving what matters: the 3L Philosophy.
No one wishes to be the victim of violence or any other form of aggression, so we are not imposing our will on reasonable people to make this the basis of the law. Every human must follow it. Noone has the right to aggress against another for any reason. No exceptions.
Forced peace is an oxymoron. People must be free to live how they choose, free from aggressing, if there is to be peace at the societal level. The 3L Philosophy is built on this understanding that freedom is the prerequisite for peace.
Although it is essential, freedom alone does not guarantee peace. Peace also requires that we treat each other with respect, as we ourselves would want to be treated; the Golden Rule. 3L members, therefore, voluntarily adopt the Aspirational Values.
3L’s contribution is to identify that portion of the Golden Rule that is essential and that which is aspirational.
- The essential part, to which we must adher regardless of circumstance, is that you must not aggress against others. We call this the Legal Principle.
- The aspirational part of the Golden Rule, that should be adhered to, is the moral component-being kind, honest, and respectful.
