Discussion

Overview

Aggressors are individuals acting alone or acting in groups.

People who intentionally aggress are not reasonable; they use force instead of reasoned communication. It is possible to aggress unintentionally, as in the case of an accidental car crash.

The 3L Philosophy holds each person accountable for their actions, not for the actions of ancestors or relatives.

Live and Let Live does not hold people responsible for the actions of their family or ancestors. However, all of us would benefit from voluntarily working towards healing the wounds that arose from the actions of our ancestors.

What constitutes peaceful people as opposed to “aggressors”?

There are those who choose exclusively voluntary interactions. These people are peaceful. People who do not limit their interactions with others to consent are aggressors.

Peaceful people exist in every race, culture, and gender. To be an aggressor, one need not take drugs or handle a weapon. We cannot stereotype the character of an ‘aggressor’.

Limiting the presence of aggressors

We should assume the world will always include aggressors, even if the 3L Philosophy were widely adopted.

Therefore, we must prepare for and deal with aggressors in an appropriate way.

Police, courts, and national defense are options for defending against aggressors. However, an overwhelming majority of such services currently (as at 2026) aggress.

Maintaining a peaceful and collaborative society relies on even those who provide protection and justice must do so without initiating non-consensual violence upon others.

There are two questions: how do we fund and deliver these services?

Local communities may define the specific consequences of aggressing.
