The Live and Let Live World Peace Movement

What

  • The Movement affirms each person’s right to live as they choose, so long as they allow others the same reciprocal right; live and let live. We aspire for brotherly love between all humanity.
  • Peace on earth isn’t utopia. It’s achieved by the active choice for freedom and peace. That means treating each other excellently and, at minimum, not aggressing.

Why

How

  • The Movement’s strategy is Awareness, Belonging, and Change (ABC).

    • Awareness: reaching a billion people with the message that two principles, don’t aggress and be an excellent human, can change everything.
    • Belonging: Coalescing that critical mass into one cohesive voice in support of peace via freedom, uplifting each other as we go.
    • Change: From everyday choices to big projects, we help you bring ā€œlive and let liveā€ into your family, community, work, and the wider world. Ultimately, we must align all laws globally with the Legal Principle: don’t aggress.
  • Our immediate goal is to empower Ambassadors to lead in these three strategic areas around the world.

  • Our long-term goal is peace on Earth. Wherever you are, all laws in that place must reflect at least a reasonable construction and fair enforcement of the Legal Principle. Peace also requires some form of voluntary moral excellence akin to the Golden Rule, that all the major philosophical and spiritual traditions already harmonise with.

The Two Principles of the Live and Let Live Philosophy

  1. The Live and Let Live Principle: all acts of aggressingĀ mustĀ be outlawed, applying equally to every individual, group, corporation, and government.

  2. Peace requires more than freedom alone. We should aspire to treat each other excellently.

    • What is ā€œexcellenceā€?

High Character - truth, trust, and virtue:

      • Commit to truth: pursue truth, be honest.

      • Build high levels of trust: honor your word.

      • Virtue: do what’s right. Embody the four ancient virtues of Wisdom, Courage, Justice, and Temperance.

Respect - see the good in others:

      • Commitment to think win/win: align self-interest with others for mutual benefit.

      • Open-mindedness: have the humility and willingness to consider new or different ideas and improve one’s own.

      • Tolerance: accept people’s differences in thought, action, and belief.

      • Civility towards others: maintain goodwill, politeness, and respect, even in disagreement.

Contribution - help others and better yourself:

      • Voluntary and loving kindness: be caring and compassionate to others without expecting anything in return.

      • Consistent self-improvement: aim high, fall short, do well. Setbacks are our teachers; the obstacle is the way. Inspire others by your example.

Vision and Mission

  • Vision: For all to live in peace.
  • Mission: To inspire people to adopt and promote the Legal Principle (’don’t aggress’) as a foundation for all law, and use this freedom to treat each other excellently.
  • Motto: ā€˜Aim high, fall short, do well’
